Here is the second email that I sent out to the team:

Hola Peru team!

How is everyone doing this week? I’ve been thinking a lot about you all and hope everything is going well for you. The past week for me has been a really good one, but busy! A few things I need to tell you all about:

First, we have a co-leader! Thank you for praying about this…God is already showing his faithfulness to this team! Jason Beard, who is currently in the FYM program with AIM, is in Peru right now, and he will be joining us for the summer. He has visited Musho, and so hopefully he can answer questions you may have about the area we will call home for the summer. Hopefully Jason will get a chance to email you all soon and tell you more about himself and his heart, but know that his access to email may be a little more limited than mine until he gets back in the states at the end of May. He is an awesome guy (as I’ve been told by several mutual friends), and I’m really excited about him being a part of our team! Here is the link to his blog if you want to read about his work in Peru and pray for his continued ministry there: http://jasonbeard.myadventures.org/

Second, a few more details about the summer (although Jason may be able to better fill you in on this, I will do my best from what I know): As I told you we will be in amountain village calledMusho. We will be working mainly with the local church there and developing discipleship with those in the community. What this means for you all is that you should be prepared for a few things: 1. Have some craft ideas for VBS along with the supplies needed to perform these crafts (with like 100 kids!). 2. Have some songs ready to sing with children 3. Be thinking about some games you can play without props. 4. Be prepared to share your testimony in front of a group. (This is a huge part of the summer…we want you all to feel comfortable enough to get real with each other and show what God has done and is continuing to do in your lives) 5. Think about some Bible study lessons and messages you could share for adults and teenagers. I know these things may be overwhelming for some of you, but this is why I’m letting you know about them know…so you have lots of time to pray and prepare. Let me know if you have questions.

Third, we still haven’t heard from some of you, so please reply to this email and just say hi and let us know who you are! I think communicating now before the trip sets the tone for the community and unity on our team. With that, I’m going to try my best to send you an email at the beginning of each week (hopefully not always this long), so look for that. I will try to share info and something God is doing with me as well as one random question for you to answer a week so we can just get to know each other better. I’m excited to hear from you 🙂

For me: This week God has been telling me how much he misses me just sitting in his presence. It’s so hard to really spend quality time with God when my days consist of hours of lecture and 10-12 hours of studying each night. But I know that my Lord should receive the first fruits of my day rather than whatever crumbs I have left at the end of the day. Pray for me as I strive to pursue Him wholeheartedly! Let me know how I can pray for you!

Question: What is your favorite noise? I’m not gonna lie,…I’d have to say for now mine is the theme song for the Office. I giggle with glee every time I hear it. I love that show!

Hope your weeks are going well!
